Solarin: The most expensive Android smartphone in the world is launched
Sirin Labs, an Israeli startup has officially unveiled it’s high-end and the most expensive Android smartphone in the world which priced at $14,000 (Rs 9 lakh approximately) . The name of the big budget smartphone is SOLARIN.
with this High price, it comes with some good features and company promises that this handset provides chip-to-chip 256-bit encryption similar to what the military uses to protect communications. The company also claims that Solarin is the world’s most secure Android smartphone.

This handset comes with 5.5 inch IPS display with LED 2k resolution and covered with gorilla glass 4 protected. The smartphone runs on heavily skinned Android 5.1 operating system which is upgraded to marshmallow soon. This is not a sleek smartphone, it weighs around 250gm. It dimension measures are 78mm wide x 159.8mm x 11.1mm.
Solarin equipped with 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM. 128 GB onboard and nonexpandable storage is provided by the company in this device.
About the camera, It sports 23.8-megapixel camera with laser autofocus and industry leading four tone flash, plus a front-facing flash. There’s an 8-megapixel front camera with flash and electrical image stabilization.
On the back and below the camera module, a fingerprint sensor is present which is surrounded by Italian leather, as well as a special security switch you can press to ensure maximum security during phone calls or while sending messages.
Solarin packs with 4,000mAh battery. The company claims talk-time of 31 hours and standby time of over 2 weeks for the smartphone. It also has Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 support.
Solarin is a single SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts a Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include 4G,Wi-Fi,NFC,Bluetooth,GPS and Sensors account there is an Ambient light sensor,Gyroscope,Accelerometer, and Proximity sensor.
The smartphone comes in four color options i.e.
- Fire Black Carbon Leather with Titanium
- Fire Black Carbon Leather with Diamond-like Carbon
- Fire Black Carbon Leather with Yellow Gold
- Crystal White Carbon Leather with Diamond-like Carbon.
Obviously, this phone is not made for the average person and after all $14,000 for a smartphone!!! But for people with high-value information on their smartphones, that high price could look pretty enticing compared to having valuable information stolen.
