Disney has created a wall-climbing robot called as Vertigo. Actually it was created in collaboration between Disney research and ETH. So let’s see how this robot is capable to climb wall easily.

This robot has four wheel and two propeller.A pair of propellers at the top on chassis and it can be redirected to send thrust in a variety of directions and combinations — pointing them backward makes the car go forward, for instance, while spinning them around would let it back up.This two propeller are tiltable and provide required thrust and each propeller has two degrees of freedom for adjusting thrust on the wall. The choice of two propellers rather than one enables a floor-to-wall transition – thrust is applied both towards the wall using the rear propeller, and in an upward direction using the front propeller, resulting in a flip onto the wall. His chassis is of carbon fibre and some parts are specially 3D printed  for vertigo aiming it to be strong without being heavy.

The vehicle must be very light and though. Vertigo is able to climb wall quickly but  it won’t be able to carry ant cargo with it.

VertiGo was created by Paul Beardsley at Disney Research and Michael Bischoff at ETH Zurich.
